CHANGES TO MY STUDY PROGRAMME

Hi everyone, i hope you are fine.Today I will talk about a very difficult and controversial topic: The curriculum of my career. Well, I studied “Licenciatura en Artes con Mención en Danza at Universidad de Chile”. The enviroment and the people are fantastic, but the career has serious problems in workload. The study day starts at 8.30 am and ends at 6 pm almost every day. I think that this career has unnecesary obligatory subjets like “Taller interdisciplinar y Cursos de Formación General” I don´t have complaints about practical classes because the dance requires a lot of practice. Another thing i don´t like is that the degree lasts 6 years without counting one year of specialization, I think that the first year called “Etapa básica” it is unnecesary too.

The faculty facilities are very precarious. The elevators fall down and are too old, the dressing rooms are not enough for everybody. However we have two giant dance halls and others smallers rooms. The problem is that there are so many courses, enrollment has increased and space is not enough. We use technology but not so much, because our practice does not require it.

The focus of our dance school is somatic, we learn Body Mind Centering (BMC), Bartenieff and others, besides having ballet and modern dance. The method is practical, we must practice a lot, it is tiring, but very entertaining, and the teachers are very loving and kind.

I think it is necessary to improve the building and  reduce the workload

"SONG(S), MIXED OF THINGS"

Hi everyone!, I hope you are fine. Today I’d like to share with you a song than I love a lot, it is  named “Zombie” by Fela Kuti, artist and political activist.  This song is from 1976 and it is about millitaries, who acted and repressed to the Nigerian people after receiving orders. The interesting thing about this is that the song gives a strong criticism of the political system, the musical style was created by Fela Kuti: “the afrobeat”.  The rhythm of this song makes you not want to stop dancing and maybe that´s one of the reason why I like it so much.

Another song that I love because it brings me good memories is “La Cosquillita” from “Juan Luis Guerra y los 4-40”, this album was put on the market in 1994.  This song is a meringue, which is very, very, fast & happy and when I dance it leaves me exhausted. I remember dancing  this song with my dad at family parties and spinning around until I´m dizzy what makes me very happy.

Although there are many songs that I like a lot, I must say that in general, I really like music that allows me to enjoy and dance alone or in company.

See you soon.

FOUR-LEGGED FRIEND

Hi everyone, I hope you are well and that you have courage at this time of year. Today I will tell you about my four-legged firend, almost all dogs. In my life I´ve hada round five or six dogs, that gave me a lot of love and happiness. They were “Samuel”, “Coya”, “Panchito”, “Aucan” and “Antu”, that is still alive with me.

Well, “Antu” means  sun or light in “Mapudungun”, he arrived at a very difficult time in my life, when I was with deppression five years ago. He came to illuminate and brighten my life and home ith his tenderness and madness, because he was a very fluffy destroyer of chairs and underwear. It was like Stitch of movie.

“Antu” is very important and I love him because is it´s fun, he likes us follo him when he steals our clothes, also he accompany me when I´m sad, and because he likes to be caressed and because he is like a bear.  “Antu” is amazing an I think it´s very difficult explain how much important and I love him.

See you soon.
